Fergie also has a new perfume, after earlier this month she launched the new fragrance with Avon called ‘Outspoken’.

The BEP lead singer will show off her new do in an upcoming music video for legendary rocker Slash, where she is featured on the single ‘Beautiful Dangerous’, which both the music heavyweights recently celebrated live onstage with Fergie joining the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist turned soloist in concert.

In another development with fashion staple Avon, Fergie has also been unveiled as one of the judges on the forthcoming Avon Voices global singing competition, which will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the cosmetics giant. She will be joined by Dianne Warren in finding the next female superstar, with details of the competition available on the Avon website. Whoever is nominated will have some major shoes to step into, with the gorgeous Fergie idolised by millions for her performances in BEP videos such as ‘My Humps’.

Monday is the prettiest work day

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

A new survey has found that employees dress best on Monday mornings.

British women have been found to take up to four times as long on Mondays to prepare for work than on Fridays, while British men also make less effort as the week progresses.

The research was undertaken by leading UK retail chain Debenhams, which found it clear that as the working week wears on, so to do the wardrobes of the workers.

The survey revealed that on Monday mornings, women across the UK spend an average of one hour and 16 minutes on getting ready for work. Around one-third of this time was dedicated to achieving the perfect hairstyle, with an additional 18 minutes spent on applying make-up and a further 16 minutes on trying out different clothes combinations. The remaining time was predominantly spent in the shower or conducting morning chores.

On Tuesday mornings, this figure dropped significantly to just 40 minutes of total preparation time, with a steady decline seen on remaining days. By Friday, a mere 19 minutes were dedicated to appearance. Ed Watson, spokesman for Debenhams, said that workers should make the most of Monday mornings because that was as good as their colleagues were going to look all week.

Men too were found to let their standards slip as the week progressed, with the Debenhams survey – of around 100 customers who use the group’s personal shopper network – discovering that British males took 28 minutes to get ready for work on Mondays. This figure dropped to just 11 minutes on Friday mornings.

Big hair back in fashion

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Big hair is back, with Dynasty-style dos regaining popularity.

The eighties throwbacks have already featured on the catwalks of both Louis Vuitton and Karl Lagerfeld of late and gained  more publicity thanks to Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, the trashy New Jersey trendsetter. According to stylists, the pouf is back – in a big way

In Recent months, Leighton Meester, Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively have sported the bouffant. Even US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has brandished sleek pouf from her blonde bob.

According to creative director at popular Heading Out, Caterina Di Biase, the pouf is the hot new hair look for the modern glitterati. Di Biase claims that the pouf is easy to create, simple to manage and only takes moments to construct. In her role as hair director at the Melbourne Fashion Festival in Australia last month, all the runway girls are now favouring the flamboyant flow.

However, the modern version is apparently less classical then the traditional Marie Antoinette high hair perfection and more akin to a dishevelled powder puff. The so-called Snooki-style, which is half-up-half-down, was the most popular way of wearing the pouf on the city streets, with even the simplest of teasing making dirty locks look spectacular. The look is perfect for dirty hair, with a simple twist and presto.

The Bold and The Beautiful big hair goes hand-in-hand with the recent resurgence of power dressing amongst the well-heeled socialites.
